Since 1998 Ricky Salmon has been a Freelance Newsreader for BBC Radio 2. He has previously worked for BBC Radio Solent, TalkSPORT, Virgin Radio and BBC Radio Five.
In 2006 Ricky Salmon co-hosted the British Council of Shopping Centres' Purple Apple Awards in London with Toyah Wilcox . In 2007, 2009 and 2010 he was the "Voice of God" voiceover man at the same event, this time working with his BBC Radio 2 colleague Claudia Winkleman.
